Important Web Extra for readers of the Speak Up Epping! Newsletter from your webmaster:

If you are a regular reader of Speak Up Epping!, you know that it is your non-partisan, all-in-one source for all things Epping. From town schedules and events, to school news and schedules, senior activities and service organizations; every two months, Speak Up Epping brings it all together for you. What you may not realize is that for nearly five years, one woman has been the sole editor and only financial support keeping it going. Unlike the early years in its ten year history, there are no longer any advertisers to bear the expense of printing and distributing the print copies that are mailed out. This is not an inconsiderable amount - $250-$300 every other month for printing and distribution. Add to that web hosting costs and there is a total expense of about $2,000 each year. These are solely hard costs that are paid to printers, the postal service, a hosting company and a domain registrar. Neither the Newsletter editor, the Facebook editor, nor the Webmaster receive any money for their work and time - all services are volunteered.

On October 24th, a frequent contributor to the newsletter, Sandy Cray, and the Speak Up Epping! newsletter editor, Barbara Helmstetter, went before the Board of Selectmen to ask for assistance. Several ideas were discussed. If you would like to see the discussion, you may view it on the streaming site here: https://etv22.viebit.com/#ox9Ip83Tadr3. The SUE discussion is at the 31:00 minute mark.

If you appreciate and find the Speak Up Epping! Newsletter useful, please consider supporting the newsletter in whatever way you can.

Obviously, a cash donation to help defray the printing and distribution costs would be very appreciated, but there are also many other ways you can help.

If you would like to make a donation, small or large, or would like to offer other support, please email Speak Up Epping! for information. Barbara has quietly been doing this as a labor of love for many years and we are just now finding out how much she has been doing. She has demonstrated a dedication to this project that not many people would. If you can show your support and appreciation, it will mean a lot and help share the burden.

Thank you!
Anne McKivergan, Webmaster, Speak Up Epping!

Editor’s note: Many thanks to Susan McGeough and the Epping Watson Academy Seniors for their donations to the Newsletter!    Barbara
